White Vase Missing
The large white ceramic vase that measures approx. 13” high and 7” across is still missing from the sacristy. This vase is used sometimes when flowers are placed on the altar. Please look at home to see if you have inadvertently taken this vase home. Call Janet Crouch for further information 372-5478.
Preschool News
We are looking forward to coming back to school this week. We will be having more fun with letter Mm for mittens, milk, marbles, and monkeys. We will be talking about Jesus and how he did not stay a baby but he grew bigger, smarter, stronger, and grew in his love for others. We will be discussing winter, watching for snow, playing indoor “snowball fights” and creating snowmen crafts.
We will have some special days off during the month of January for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. We may have days off because of winter weather. Please see WISH-TV 8 to confirm school closings due to snow and ice. The preschool is listed as Faith Lutheran Preschool-Columbus. We will follow the lead of Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp.
Upcoming Events:
Jan. 19th, No School, MLKJ Day
Jan. 20th, No School, Staff In-Service Day
Jan. 29th, Dad’s Night, 6:30 PM
Thrivent Help Wanted
Each congregation should have three Thrivent Congregational Coordinators and we currently only have two. If you are a Thrivent member or associate member and might be interested, please talked to Barb Feltner for more details. Contact Barb in the church office 342-3587 or at home 372-8353.
IRA Roll-over Opportunity
The Economic Bailout Package Bill included a tax extender that allows IRA owners age 70 ½ or older to once again rollover/transfer up to $100,000 to public charities (Synodical churches, schools, camps, etc...) tax-free in both 2008 and 2009. That’s right—tax free! The gift must be transferred directly from the holding company to Faith to avoid the tax. If you take possession of the funds yourself, you lose the tax-free benefit. Please consult your accountant for more information.

Pregnancy care center
During difficult economic
times Pregnancy Care Center ministry needs
increase. In September we experienced our largest
number of client visits in history. Our ministry is
in a cash crunch. If we do not see an increase in
giving soon we will have to make the tough decision
to decrease programs as the demand for them
continues to grow. Please prayerfully consider a
sacrificial, one-time gift at this critical time.
Your gift will help us wipe out the deficit we are
facing and continue to offer the full scope of
life-altering and life-saving services to those in
need.
