Purpose
Faith Lutheran Preschool strives to provide spiritual, social, and academic growth to the preschool child through active learning experiences.

Admission Policy
Faith Lutheran Preschool is a Christian preschool serving the community. Children of all races and religions are welcome. Faith Preschool does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, or national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship program, or any other school-administered programs.

Classes
PRESCHOOL 3/4's
(Three year olds and four year olds).
Must be three years old by August 1st.
Meets on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 9a to 11:30a.
Emphasis is on social skills, color recognition, shape recognition, and large and fine motor development.
Registration limit: 12 per class

PRE-KINDERGARTEN
(Four year olds and five year olds).
Must be four years old by August 1st.
Meets on Mondays, Wednesdays, & Fridays from 9a to 11:30a.
Emphasis is on pre-reading skills, letter recognition, counting, math skills, and beginning writing skills.
Registration Limit: 16 per class

CURRICULUMThe curriculum for Faith Lutheran Preschool is, above all things, Christ-centered. It is our objective to begin the child’s education in the light of God’s love and under the influence of the Gospel message. We hope that we can demonstrate God’s love to the children through every aspect of the curriculum. The program will involve the following activities: *Bible lessons *Music and rhythm activities *Reading readiness activities *Beginning mathematics concepts *Science activities *Arts and crafts activities *Outdoor and indoor structured and non-structured play
REGISTRATION
Children must be four years old by August 1st to enroll in the Pre-Kindergarten class. This is in compliance with the Indiana age and date requirements for kindergarten.
 
Children must be three years old by August 1st to enroll in the preschool class. All children MUST be completely potty trained.  Pull-ups will not be allowed. No exceptions will be made.
 
Registration for the new school year begins in February and continues until classes are full. Registration is limited to 16 in pre-kindergarten and 12 in the preschool class. A student is registered when the preschool director receives the completed registration card and the non-refundable registration fee of $60.

2010-2011 FEE SCHEDULE
Registration Fee, non-refundable (both classes): $60.00 per year
Activity Fee (both classes): $40.00 per year

Preschool 3’s/4’s Class
Monthly payment plan: $85.
Single payment plan (5% discount) payable in September: $726.75
Two payment plan (2% discount) payable in September and January:$374.85
Active member of Faith Lutheran payment plan payable in
September: $191.25
Pre-Kindergarten Class
Monthly payment plan: $100.
Single payment plan (5% discount) payable in September:  $855.00
Two payment plan (2% discount) payable in September and
January: $441.
Active members of Faith Lutheran payment plan payable in
September: $225.

Families with more than one child enrolled per year receive a 15% discount for each additional child. Scholarships are available.

DAILY SCHEDULE OF ACTIVITIESCIRCLE TIME: We begin our day with the pledges to the American Flag, the Christian Flag and to the Bible. We follow the pledges with an opening prayer. Then circle time includes calendar, weather, and sharing activities followed by nursery rhymes and singing. A Bible lesson is taught each day focusing on one Bible story and Bible truth per week.   LEARNING ACTIVITIES: This may include math, science, social studies, language arts, crafts, cooking, and other activities. There may be some paperwork, but the emphasis is on activities.

 

CENTER TIME: During this time the children choose their activities at different centers in the room. Some of the centers may be puzzles, blocks, books, painting, art, dramatic play or the water/sand table. 

 

RESTROOM TIME: We take time to clean up, to use the restroom and to wash hands.  Please dress your child so he/she can attend to his/her own personal needs. 

 

LARGE MUSCLE MOTOR ACTIVITIES: Outside free play (weather permitting) or group games and large muscle activities inside, i.e. parachute.

 

SNACK TIME: We memorize table prayers and practice manners. Each child is encouraged to taste the daily snack. Please let the teacher know of any allergies or strong dislikes.

 

ARTS AND CRAFTS: Cutting, pasting, painting, etc.

 

STORY TIME: Sitting quietly in a circle and listening to a story.

 

CHAPEL:  The children will attend chapel services one day per week in the church sanctuary.
