PRESCHOOL NEWS
Let's ride! It is time for our annual Trike-a-Thon to raise funds for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. St. Jude provides our preschool with a bicycle safety curriculum in which Bikewell Bear and Pedals the Bunny teach students four important bike safety rules. We, in turn, ask family and friends to sponsor our ride, bring our bikes to school, and have a great time practicing our bike safety rules. Parents, we ask that every student bring his/her bike to school even if funds are not collected for St. Jude. All are welcome to attend from 11:00 to 11:30 each day. Here are some interesting facts about St. Jude: Founded by entertainer Danny Thomas in 1962, St. Jude's mission is to find cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. No family ever pays St. Jude for anything. The daily operating cost for St. Jude is $1.7 million, which is primarily covered by public contributions. St. Jude has treated children from all 50 states and from around the world. St. Jude maintains 78 inpatient beds and treats upwards of 260 patients each day. Parent Tip: “Yield yourselves to the Lord’s way as you seek His guidance each day.” ABC’s of Christian Parenting, by Robert and Debra Bruce Upcoming Events: April 26-27, Trike-a-Thons for St. Jude, May 6, Sing in Worship, Meet at 8:50 in the preschool room, May 18th, Graduation/Recognition Night

50TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Faith Lutheran Church will celebrate the Congregation’s 50th Anniversary on Sunday, November 4, 2012. Dana and I have volunteered to chair the committee to commemorate this momentous occasion in our church’s history. We are looking for 6-7 people to serve on the committee to help with the planning. We are celebrating the congregation so it is really important that everyone from brand new members to long term members be included. If you are interested in helping, please let Pastor, Dana or myself know. Your talent and time commitment will be greatly appreciated

FAITH AFTER SCHOOL
Faith After School is a program dedicated to serving working
parents who need to bridge the gap between school and home. Time in the After School program is used first and foremost for homework, and then fun activities as a follow-up. This year we are introducing new staff who will be implementing sports and music time as well. After school care is from 3-6p every day school is in session, following BCSC school schedule. Busing is available from Southside, St. Peter’s, St. Bartholomew, Signature Academy, and Busy Bees downtown location. We also honor our military with a discount. Inquire for details.
We are currently taking registrations for the 2011-2012 school year. Please tell friends and neighbors about our quality program and the benefits of busing available and the healthy, Christian atmosphere, which we provide. Email afterschool@faithontheweb.org or call Jennifer Welliver at 342-3587. Registration forms are available here.

FLOWERS
2012 Flower Chart is now located on the bulletin board in the hallway. This is a wonderful opportunity to place flowers on the altar for a Sunday morning worship service to commemorate an anniversary, birthday or special occasion. You will receive a reminder from the Altar Guild ahead of time with suggestions on whom to contact, etc. for the flowers. This can be as simple as a phone call.

STEWARDSHIP REMINDER
Pledges of time and talent may be placed in the offering plate. Extra copies of the form are available on the table in the Narthex. Thank you for your prayerful consideration of a way or ways in which you can return some of your talents to our Lord from all who blessings flow.
